Eight data center proposals across Hood County have the potential to transform the community. Despite backlash from residents, county officials say their hands are tied in their ability to stop or slow development.Â
As data center developers increasingly look to build in rural, unincorporated areas that are free of city regulations, how much power do local and state elected officials really have to regulate, and incentivize, data center developments?
